FIELD TRIPS

The cost for third grade field trips this year is $40.00
Please make checks out to  Breen P.T.C. Student Account.

Maidu Interpretive Center  November
We  will take an outdoor tour of the land where the Maidu once lived to learn about how they used the resources around them.  We will eat lunch at the center.  The second half of the day will involve exploring the brand new Maidu Museum which includes artifacts and hands-on activities.  We will travel rain or shine, so students need to dress for the weather.

Bernhard Museum  March 25
We will be visiting the Bernhard Museum in Auburn for Living History Day.  Students will go back in time to the 1880’s, assuming the roles of the area’s settlers during that time.  Students will dress in costume and perform daily chores and activities as folks did in the 1880’s.

Planetarium  February 27
We will travel to the Planetarium at Sierra College.  This trip will enrich our study of the solar system.  As a bonus, we will enjoy a guided tour of the Natural History Museum which is located below the Planetarium.

Wild Things June, last day of school!
we will bring a field trip to Breen!  Wild Things is a non-profit organization in Weimar that cares for wild animals that are no longer able to live in their natural environment.  The animal caretakers will bring several creatures to our campus.  The presenters will share a wealth of information about each animal as children observe.  This presentation will enhance our science unit on the Survival of Living Things.

Parent chaperones will have to pay the entrance fee for each trip, but not the transportation costs.
All chaperones must have current fingerprints on file and a TB test
